Another milestone was reached last night with Council’s approval of an exciting new concept plan for the revitalisation of Berridge Park.
The concept plan features much needed improvements to public and youth recreational infrastructure, while retaining the existing mature trees which our community loves.
With Council’s approval to get started on funding applications for this intergenerational project, the Shire will now be all hands to the wheel to obtain funding to turn the concept into a reality.
Denmark Shire President Kingsley Gibson said looking after aging infrastructure is an expensive exercise and the user experience reduces over time.
“We’ll be working as hard as we can to secure funding to get this project moving, because we know how much of a positive impact it could have on our community in the years ahead,” Cr Gibson said.
“The concept design is just that – a concept – but if we are successful in our funding applications, the revitalised park will still be recognisable with all the mature trees and bush retained with some exciting new and accessible features slotted in for us all to enjoy.”
A ‘fly through’ video mock up of the concept plan is available for community members to view to get a sense of some of the features that could be in the design if funding applications are successful.
More information about the project will be released to the public when it becomes available.
