From the Heart – the national Yes campaign working to deliver a constitutionally enshrined Indigenous Voice to Parliament – welcomes the announcement from Western Australia’s Shire of Denmark to support the establishment of an Indigenous Voice in the Australian Constitution.
From the Heart Campaign Director Dean Parkin said, “It is encouraging to see the depth of support from across the community for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament. You don’t need to be an expert to be able to talk to one another, and your community about why a Voice to Parliament is a good idea.
From the Heart is working with large and small businesses, community groups, and grassroots organisations to increase awareness, drive education and mobilise local and on the ground support for the Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
“We already know that the majority of Australian voters support a Voice to Parliament, and we are ramping up our efforts to reach as many people as possible before the referendum to talk about why a Voice to Parliament is fair and practical, and how it will bring our country together.”
Local communities, like the Shire of Denmark, are critical to the campaigns success and play an important role in driving awareness and encouraging others to learn more about a Voice to Parliament and what exactly is being proposed.
From the Heart looks forward to working closely with the Shire of Denmark to deliver an Indigenous Voice to Parliament and advance Indigenous reconciliation.
