Back by popular demand, hundreds of roller skates are thundering around the Denmark Recreation Centre for end-of-term celebrations once again.
After a few years off, Roller Discos are back in Denmark, with a Super Hero-themed skate fest set to be held on Friday 16 September – the second disco to be held this year.
Shire of Denmark Recreation Services Coordinator Karis Aplin said after the disruption caused by the pandemic in recent years, it was a pleasure to bring back the popular discos for the community to enjoy.
“It’s a great opportunity for the whole family to come and enjoy a fun night out together,” Ms Aplin said.
“Obviously it’s a fun, safe and healthy activity for the kids, but at last term’s disco there was definitely more than one adult having fun out there too and we’re so glad to be putting it on again this term.”
Plans are in place to make the discos a regular occurrence for end-of-term festivities and suggestions are welcome for themes for future discos.
“We look forward to seeing mini-Wonder Women and Supermen having fun on skates next week,” Ms Aplin said.
Tickets are on sale via Try Booking and spots are filling fast.
“We ask everyone to please book in advance so we can make sure we’ve got skates for everyone, there will be no door tickets so get in early to secure a spot!”
“Our school holiday program will be released soon too, so please keep an eye on our social media and website pages for more information as it becomes available.”
